Dear fellow USNA Grads and Friends,

Welcome to the USNA Alumni Association Cincinnati Chapter! The purpose of our Chapter is to provide a forum for local USNA Alumni and friends who love and support the Naval Academy, our Navy and the Marine Corps! We try to schedule a range of events that enable members to keep in contact with local Naval Academy grads and also keep current on events that affect the Naval Academy, the Navy and the Marine Corps. And we also include some great Navy sports events!!!

We are an inclusive organization. We do not charge dues. In fact, we communicate with our members using the USNA Alumni Association database. If you reside in Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky or Dayton areas and have an up-to-date email address on file with the Alumni Association, you will automatically receive notices of the events we sponsor and support.

We also include in our membership friends and supporters of the Naval Academy who are not Naval Academy graduates. These individuals include USNA grad parents, Navy League members and others who simply love and support the Naval Academy. We have a special email distribution list to communicate with those who fall into this category.

Our local section has a very special relationship with the Greater Cincinnati Council of the US Navy League. (The President of our local chapter serves on the Board of the local Navy League Counsel.)  We co-sponsor a variety of luncheons and events featuring a wide variety of distinguished speakers who speak on topics related to our military and our country. Past luncheon speakers have included Dick Cheney and Mike Mullen, the current JCS Chief. A highlight of each year is the Annual George Brown Lecture series held each fall at Paul Brown Stadium. Past speakers have included the SECNAV, CNO and USNA Superintendent.  When these events are scheduled, you can expect to receive an email from me with the details.

And speaking of being inclusive, we distribute invitations to all of our sponsored events to our friends at the local West Point and Air Force Academy alumni Groups. They are always invited to attend our events. If we have a great speaker scheduled and a meeting place reserved, why wouldn’t we want to include our friends and supporters of our sister services? We are now in the process of scheduling “happy hours” where members of all academies can mingle and get to know each other.

This organization is one that I label as a “must participate” because my closest friends in the world come from our community.  There is an instant bond when we meet each other because of our shared experience and it is an honor to be the chapter President.
